July 2013 I
have discussed this year's dates with State Challenge organiser Mark
Donahoo and he advises that the Postal Challenge for each RWA club may
be scheduled on any of the following three weekends
This
allows for those clubs who want to schedule it during Schools Holidays
and also caters for those clubs who want to keep it outside school
holidays. As always, chat with mark Donahoo if you have difficulties in
fitting in with these dates. We try to be as flexible as possible to
help our clubs participate in the Challenge. 10km

August
2013 This
second yearly carnival rotates between the member clubs and is normally
held in the second half of the winter season. Since 2008, it has been
held alongside the Australian Roadwalking Championships. Individual medals will be awarded by Athletics Australia and Teams medals will be awarded by Racewalking Australia. Hence this event is seen as an Australian Championship meet from an Individual perspective but as a Racewalking Australia meet from a Teams perspective. This championship has been awarded to Tasmania in 2013 and is expected to be held in Hobart in late August. Entry procedures will go online on the Athletics Australia
website in late June. |
September 2013 RACEWALKING AUSTRALIA 50 KM CHAMPIONSHIP FOR WOMEN Middle Park, Melbourne, Victoria VRWC has put their hand up once again for this event which will be held in conjunction with the Victorian Open 50km championship. Anyone wanting to enter should contact Tim Erickson closer to the event. |

September 2013 Racewalking Australia, in conjunction with the Australian Centurions, presents the annual Racewalking Australia 100 Km Walking Championships for men and women. These events are held concurrently with the annual Australian Centurions 24 Hour Carnival which will be held in September 2103 at Middle Park. Note this is a change from previous years when this event has been staged in conjunction with the Coburg 24 Hour Carnival and has been track based. In 2013, these championships will be road based. Further details and entry forms will soon be available at the Centurions website at http://www.centurions.org.au/
