Our next featured athlete is younger sister to Jared. Rachel qualified for the World Champs and the World Uni Games but had to withdraw from both due to injury, she is still one of our best female race Walkers,  here is her Q&A Session.

What is your biggest accomplishment in your sport?

Winning the 2016 National Championships and being selected for the Rio Olympic Games.


What would be your ultimate achievement? 

To win a medal at a Major Championship.


Where or who do you draw your inspiration from? 

My parents, they made the opportunity as an elite athlete possible and are my biggest supporters. 


What is your favorite food to eat the night before a big competition?

Pasta or Pizza


What’s one word that describes you? 



Rio 2016 Olympic Games

What is your favorite place to compete? 

At home in Victoria where my whole family can come watch, especially my little nieces, nephews and cousins.


What is your greatest weakness? 

I love my food and have a habit of overindulging a lot.


What is your greatest strength?

I’m very competitive and I enjoy cross-training almost as much as I like walking, which is very useful for when I’m injured. 


What excites you the most about a career as an athlete? 

The opportunity to do what you love all across the world, while meeting and becoming friends with many talented athletes along the way.

Would you rather live for a week in the past or the future?

In the future, to see whether all those donuts I eat were a bad idea 🙂
